Even beyond the SAT, I found Ms. Scully’s test-taking strategies invaluable in college.

I began working with Ms. Scully’s SAT preparation course in the spring of my sophomore year.  Although it was difficult juggling high school with Ms. Scully’s program, it was worth it in the end.  My Critical Reading, Writing, and Math scores went up 90, 220, and 160 points, respectively.  I was ecstatic.  Also, since Ms Scully’s program covers material often found in high school courses, it helped me with my class work.  Overall, Ms. Scully’s program helped me to master concepts with a confident understanding.

Ms. Scully put me in the right frame of mind for the SAT.  By the time I was finished with the course material, I knew I was prepared.  The night before the test, I thought  ‘Bring it on!’

I used the DVD set - it was so easy to use!  I felt really confident when I took the test.  If only I had started earlier.

I very much benefited from using Lynn Scully's get IT DVDs, particularly the ones about how to get the most from reading.  I practiced what she taught.  I absolutely know this is what helped me raise my SAT score to get me into the college of my choice.  I needed to raise my Critical Reading score and it went from 1070 to 1150 in 3 weeks.

The get IT SAT program is worth its weight in gold!  The month before the test, my son watched the get IT DVDs on his portable player for 15 to 20 minutes each night before bed.  We are very pleased with his improved scores.  Lynn Scully's DVD course really helps a student to realize his academic potential.

I decided to focus on one section at a time.  In one month of using the DVD set, I raised my writing section score to 770, a 220 point increase.  I earned 12 points on the essay, the highest score, because Ms. Scully's instructions were so easy to follow.  Now, I am going to focus on the Math.

This program was ideal for us because Sam was able to study only what he needed, and, now that he saw so much improvement, he's motivated to raise his math score too.  Sam was able to work on it in the privacy of his room when he had time.  Between work and school, he doesn't have much time, and with three other children going in many directions, I was happy that I didn't have to drive him to class.

Because I have dyslexia, I was afraid I would never get the SAT scores I needed for the college I had chosen.  My school classes were already a challenge and I knew an SAT course would be even harder.  I was worried that an instructor would not have time to explain concepts clearly and I would be wasting my time and money.  Instead, I chose to do Lynn Scully's Independent Tutorial (get IT) and I did get it.  My verbal score increased by 100 points and my math score went up 170 points.  I was accepted to the college of my choice, and since my scores were so high, I was accepted without exception.  I believe that going at my own pace and being able to rewatch problems giving me difficulty helped me considerably.  The verbal learning techniques really improved the way I study.  The get IT program was key to my success.

I was accepted to University of Chicago, Wellesley College, Bryn Mawr College, Smith College, Reed College, Rutgers University, Drew University.  My final SAT scores were Critical Reading 690, Math 680, and Writing 700!  Thank you, Ms. Scully!  get IT is ingenious and efficient.   It is so convenient for at-home use.  The lessons are thorough and clear. 

I really liked the idea of going at my own pace with Ms. Scully's DVDs.  She was great at explaining how to approach each section of the SAT.  The critical reading exercises were especially helpful.  I improved the most in the Critical Reading section of the test.

Lynn Scully presented her SAT Prep Curriculum at the 2004 New England Homeschool Conference in Boxborough, MA.  Since this curriculum won the 2004 Parents’ Choice Award for educational DVDs, we were interested.  At $595, it cost way less than the in-class courses available in my community.  My children took the diagnostic test (included) and then developed a study plan based on their mistakes.
My children did the 5 in 5’s™, which are 5 problems to be done in 5 minutes every day.  They found the materials easy to work with.  My son’s score went up 390 points based not only on the techniques and strategies taught, but also in the confidence instilled by repetitively watching the DVD set.  I know he was accepted into the college of his choice largely in part because of his test results.
